Farmers Market Fresh

Like most people I try to eat as healthy as possible, but being a tried and true New Yorker sometimes that's not easy. Every now and again I do go to farmers markets and pickup a few things. Here are a few snaps  I took at the Farmers Market at Grand Army Plaza near Prospect Park in Brooklyn

Labor Day 2014

There are many things I love about being a New Yorker. 1 of which is the West Indian community. Now I'm not saying that you can't find it anywhere else in the world, but there's this sense of unity that comes from being around other West Indians no matter what country their from.  but before I start to ramble, let me get to the point of this post...

There are very few days of the year that I look forward to, but when Labor Day starts creeping up on me I feel both annoyed & extremely happy, annoyed because people can take music and their flag obsessions too far & happy because it's a joyous occasion where you can find great finds (i.e. jewlery and music), great food,  run into friends and family, and you can also promote your own business (fashion, fitness, photgraphy etc.) All in all, you're bound to have a great time rain or shin, unless of course crowds aren't your thing. But any way, as per usual I took waaay too many pictures; but here are a few snap. If Laziness dosen't get the best of me, I'll be sure to add a few more [=

What are friends for?

Back in June  I ordered hair from AliExpress, from the vendor Yvonne Hair Products.  I wasn't using it and instead of being a hair hoarder, I decided to use it to give it to my friend.
Since It was kinky "Brazilian" hair with a curl pattern that reminded me of hers I figured, why not just do a sewin. So, while everyone was watching the VMAs, we had girls night and did her hair, while watching the Shrek marathon (i mean who doesn't love Shrek? lol). While I didn't style it, I thought that the hair, at least at first appearance was absolutely amazing and thought I'd share & document just so we can remember where the hair came from

Before:

What she used
what she used

After:

I absolutely love the way this look on her and hopefully the hair doesn't disappoint.

Random Find

Being a true New Yorker the best thing I can say about living here is that even when you're not expecting to, you can always find something that's going on. I was in Union Square earlier with one of my best friends and we stumbled on a street fair. Unfortunately for us, we got there closer to closing but since this was a "cheat day" for me I had no complaints. I didn't take many snaps, but in the spirit of trying to put my camera to good use (and actually using my blog), I did manage to take these.
Any potential photos went out the window after I got a few snacks. [lol]

Tornado Potato & Paratha $1 each

Deep Fried Oreos. Who doesn't love these?

Lola's Hair [Tour]

So Sunday August 3rd, I attended a meet & greet in Manhattan at Toshi's Living Room & Penthouse [on Broadway & W. 26th] Where the attendees with with the owner of Lola's Hair, and Youtubers PeakMill, BeautyByJJ, LakiaStar & FabulasityIsMe. All 4 ladies were absolutely gorgeous and  down to earth It was a nice get together  & despite me trying to behave, I left the event with 4 bundles of hair. (It was only right lol). I purchased 4 bundles of hair:
1-16"
1-18"
2-20"
from the Malaysian body wave collection. Which in total ran me about $283 with tax, and no shipping was involved, because as I sad above, I purchased this hair at the meet and greet. Lola's staff was super sweet

Out of sheer laziness, I've waited 2 weeks before making and creating a u-part with with the hair. At the present moment in time I've created and installed the my unit, straightened and cut e few layers it, in addition to curling it with flexirods. So far I have no complaints, but will update if anything changes.

After to playing around, I'm not a fan of how the u-part came out. It was giving me a helmet/pageant feel. I'm not sure if I'll upload the video yet, but here are some screen caps:

P.S. I'm on a hunt for a Skirt like the one FabulasityIsMe wore to the meet & greet:

Gorgeous isn't it?

check out the meet and greet:
