Queen Weave Beauty || Brazilian Kinky Curly Hair

Ok, So back in April I was contacted by Queen Weave Beauty from AliExpress to review some kinky curly hair (as seen in the title). They sent me 3 bundles of hair in 18, 20, and 22 inches.  I bleached the hair (myself) and went to get it done professionally with a closure (from another vendor) because the texture didn't match my hair, as it was more curly than kinky.

Throughout the 5 weeks I had the hair installed in my hair, I did a heatless blowout, curl wanted it without heat protectant and wore it in its natural sate, and despite the slight damage i got from bleaching, it help up nicely.

I've since taken it out to give my hair a break, but I'm in the process of making a u-part wig with it again to have more fun with it for the rest of the summer. If for whatever reason I forget to make a YouTube about it I'll be sure to update it here.

Dinner on a dime

Since school has gotten a bit more than hectic, it not only caused me to neglect this blog yet again, but also my friends. As the school year came to a close and summer classes began, I was in dire need of a mental break and some friend time. After what felt like spending $1 Mill on books, I wasn't up for spending a lot of money. Luckily for me, my friends and I have a knack for finding places that tend to be on the affordable side.

One of my best friends ventured out to The Village for one of  favorite past times, eating! We went to a restaurant called Ramen-Ya.

For our appetizer we had Pork Gyoza and a delicious plum wine

and more my main course  had a no soup ramen called Abura Soba (the noddles were underneath. I meant to take a photo, but once I started eating it was a wrap lol)

After walking around for a few, We headed to St. Marks for dessert. Since I found our dinner location, my friend found our dessert location, a place called Bing Box Snow Cream. It's a Korean desert place that sells Shaved, Ice, Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt, and (Bubble?/Iced?) Tea if I remember correctly  Neither one of us had been to BingBox but decided to try it out of sheer curiosity, and  are so glad we did. I have pictures of my order below, the best part about it, aside form the taste, is how light you feel afterwards.

When you're ready to order you have the option of ordering their preset creations, or making your own. I ordered the  Chocolate BingBox and added Oreos, Vanilla Wafers and Nutella, because why not?

We had a great time and definitely found new spots to venture out to during the summer =]

Taste of Times Square

So This past Monday, June 1st, was the Taste of Times Square. I went with my friend Nat and her brother. Weather aside, we had a great time, probably because 1) it was a cheap event and 2) we like to eat lol.  I mean who doesn't love food? I took a few shots from some of the stands we went to, but I must say I was shocked to see how many people showed up. There were a few bands,3 that I can remember were a Mariachi band [which i believe is shown in a video below] the Ebony Hillbillies and another band that had it's own section  for dancing. Their name escapes me, but they had a Frank Sinatra feel to it.

Some of the samples we had:

Rigatoni Bolognese

Chicken & Sausage Jumbalaya
Burbon Bacon Brownie
Cajun Chicken Pasta

Cheesecake Bites from Buffalo Wild Wings
[absolutely delicious!!!]

There were many more stands/samples but quite honestly I was too bust eating to capture more lol

Back to basics

So it just dawned on me that I've yet again neglected this blog of mine. At least this time around it was for a few months as opposed to a few years lol. But any whoo, hello to anyone who just happens to stumble across this.
As of late I found myself feeling down and uninspired, most due to the weather/season. [The cold and snow have really been showing up and showing out this winter] the other day I decided I needed a little pick me up and decided to do something I haven't done in such a long time, get my nails done. I had forgotten how something as simple as a trip to the nail salon could cheer you up. While I was there I thought about how I used to love.......OK not love but obessess over nail polish. I swear there was a time I couldn't go into Duane Reade, Target, my local beuaty supply store, or Ricky's without picking up a bottle of OPI, Essie, Sinful colors or anything else I could find.  I thought about adding a nail color section her to 1 keep me on my toes when it comes to blogging and 2) so I can remember which colors I love/hate and why
Well that's enough rambling, here's the first color
Nail color is Monkey Business by Essie.

Farmers Market Fresh

Like most people I try to eat as healthy as possible, but being a tried and true New Yorker sometimes that's not easy. Every now and again I do go to farmers markets and pickup a few things. Here are a few snaps  I took at the Farmers Market at Grand Army Plaza near Prospect Park in Brooklyn
